Where can I find information about the best way to reach my destination using public transport?
We suggest utilising the Trip Planner. This will allow you to put in "From" and "To" points, leaving/arriving times, preferred transport methods, etc. This will then present you with details of suitable travel itineraries for the specified trip.
Can I use a Trip Planner to plan my trip between any two locations?
Yes. We recommend you use the Trip Planner.
Where can I find information about train departure and arrival times?
There are several ways you can do this. The Trip Planner will provide you with departure and arrival times.
Alternatively, the RailCorp website has their train timetables online.
Where can I find information about bus departure and arrival times?
You can use the timetable search engine. This will allow you to put in a route, stop number or location. The engine will then provide you with route information and departure/arrival times.
Where can I find information about private bus departure and arrival times?
Private Bus information is also part of the Trip Planner and Timetable Search. Alternatively, you can view the list of private bus operators and contact them directly.
Where can I find information about the next bus service to reach my destination?
If you know the "Stop Number" you requesting information on, there are several methods of finding out your next service. Firstly, you can use the Timetable Search and enter in your stop number. Alternatively, you can use the automated next bus service on the 131500 Transport Infoline.
Don't know your stop number? Why not try the Stop Number Search.
Can I find out whether my bus is late?
There are occasions when services are disrupted due to such factors as roadworks, mechanical, traffic congestion, accidents and the like over which Bus companies have little or no control. When disruptions to services occur, every effort is made to minimise delays, and to restore normal timetable running as quickly as possible. The RTA monitor traffic in Sydney and post traffic reports on their website. To view the traffic reports on the RTA website, click here.
